
The National Weather Service has not confirmed a tornado in either community, but large hail and winds destroyed several sheds. La Grange law enforcement officers spotted a tornado funnel touch down a few minutes past nine. Hail the diameter of a quarter pelted roofs in La Grange. High winds jumped the Mississippi River, hitting Ursa and Mendon. Debris was strewn about by the tornadic winds. Maywood, Missouri was hit about 9 p.m. Grain bins were blown over and roofs were pulled off homes. The storm's rampage hit Emden at about 8:20 p.m. The windows of the town's church were blown out, and several sheds were toppled.
TORNADO TOUCHDOWN TODAY MISSOURI SERIES

Storm surveys were conduct ed in Northeast Missouri Thursday, to assess the damage from Wednesday night`s storms, and to determine the cause of th e damage. An EF-1 has winds up to 110 miles per hour

It also says an EF-1 tornado happened in Maywood, in southeast Lewis County. A category EF-0 has wind speeds of 65 to 85 miles per hour. Severe storms producing wind damage and isolated hail are expected today mainly from Missouri and Illinois southeastward toward the southern Appalachians. The Weather Service confirmed that a Category EF-0 tornado touched down in Emden, in Shelby County.
